The State of Michigan and FEMA have established a Documentation Drop-off Center for individuals impacted by the June 25-26 storms and floods to drop off documents needed to complete their disaster assistance application or get help with registration from an on-site FEMA representative.
The Harper Woods Drop-off Center is located at the:

FEMA is on site at the Grosse Pointe City Department of Public Safety building located at 17320 Mack; starting today (07/27) until further notice. Please enter off Mack. This is for any Metro Detroit residents who have already initiated an application and need to supply supporting documents or for those receiving denial letters with instructions requesting further documentation.
This site is NOT taking walk-ups. It's drive-through only.

The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) is offering affordable, low-interest, long-term disaster loans following the announcement of a Presidential disaster declaration due to severe storms, flooding, and tornadoes from June 25 - 26, 2021.
In essence, Businesses of all sizes, Private Non-Profit organizations, Homeowners and Renters in the affected areas* and with physical or economic damages stemming from this disaster, are encouraged to apply as they may be eligible for federal disaster assistance from the SBA.

* This disaster declaration covers Washtenaw and Wayne counties in Michigan, which are eligible for both Physical and Economic Injury Disaster Loans from the SBA. Small businesses and most private nonprofit organizations in the following adjacent Michigan counties are eligible to apply only for SBA Economic Injury Disaster Loans: Jackson, Lenawee, Livingston, Macomb, Monroe, and Oakland. IMPORTANT: The filing deadline to return applications for physical property damage is Sept. 13, 2021. The deadline to return economic injury applications is April 15, 2022.

Residents who sustained losses in the flood can begin applying for assistance by registering online at www.DisasterAssistance.gov or by calling (800) 621-FEMA (3362) or 1-800-462-7585 (TTY) for the hearing and speech impaired from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. seven days a week.
Dear Residents.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is visiting the area today and tomorrow. The damage assessment team includes representatives from the Michigan State Police Emergency Management (MSP) , US Small Business Administration (SBA), and FEMA.
All team members are wearing clothing with their agency emblem on their shirt or vest and they are also wearing clearly visible identification and credentials. The FEMA team will be knocking on doors, speaking with residents and visiting businesses and homes in different areas of the City.
Harper Woods Officials are working with FEMA representatives, but do not have a firm time frame for the visit due the the many areas being assesed in Wayne County.
Harper Woods Flood Damage Information
Harper Woods residents should report flood damage claims to their own insurance carriers taking videos and/or pictures of the flood damage. Vehicle owners should report any damages to their own auto insurance carriers.
DEBRIS DISPOSAL – Our Refuse carrier – GFL – will be working its regular rubbish route to pick up household flood damaged trash. Please do not overfill trash bags. Start putting out your trash today. Pickups will occur everyday until all trash is collected. The city will follow up with items that need special pickup. NO FEES WILL BE CHARGED FOR SPECIAL PICKUPS.
Harper Woods relies on a gravity system and not a pumping station for water displacement. Water will recede at its own pace.

Drinking Water quality has not been affected.
The Governor has declared a State of Emergency and the City is working directly with her office. Please be patient and understanding.
